Community Engagement

Join a movement that helps families understand and navigate early-stage Type 1 diabetes.

Why Your Experience Matters
When a child or adult screens positive for T1D autoantibodies, families often feel isolated. They wonder what Stage 1 or Stage 2 means, what to do next, and where to turn.

3 Ways to Engage

   Become an AMBASSADOR

Ambassadors are patients, caregivers, or advocates (non-clinicians) who want to contribute to early type 1 diabetes (T1D) education and outreach. As an Ambassador, you would:

  • Complete a brief training module

  • Help raise awareness about early T1D in your community

  • Support early T1D educational and outreach efforts

  • Connect with other families

   Share Your Story

Your experience can help other families feel less alone and learn what helped you in real life. If you share, we may anonymously use your story or parts of your story on our website or resources.

Your story can include some or all of the following elements:

  • How we found out

  • What helped in the first 30 days

  • What I wish I’d known

  • How monitoring fits into real life

  • How we talked to school/family/friends
